Housing

This growing community offers something for everyone – from traditional brick homes to trendsetting Southwest-style houses, smaller homes for single or large homes for families. And now, a new apartment complex is adding even more for those relocating to the area.

Raintree Apartment Complex Opens on Llano Estacado
The gated community, Raintree Apartments at 2400 E. Llano Estacado (https://www.raintreeclovisnewmexico.com/) is open to residents seeking apartment living. The development offers 128 units for rent. But these aren’t just any units – they’re top-of-the-line, with one-, twoand three-bedroom floor plans from which to choose. The complex also contains a clubhouse, business center with free Wi-Fi, pool, workout room and a full-time maintenance staff.
Each apartment comes with a covered parking spot, but tenants are also able to pay a little extra to have their own garage. Additional storage also is available. Each unit ranges from 642 to 1,124 square feet, and contains a mixture of carpet and tile, with granite countertops, a washer/dryer and all appliances. The cost of rent ranges from $895 to $1,295 per month and is market value – that is, not dependent on income. For more information, call 575-935-2400.

Construction Continues
“Real estate is an ever-changing business and Clovis is making great strides to meet the housing needs for the community – not only with newly built homes, but by providing various rental options for the community, as well,” said Holly Stockstill, owner/ broker with Coldwell Banker Prime Real Estate.
New home construction has continued to out-pace most of the nation in percentage of units, since the continued expansion of Cannon Air Force Base just west of town, in addition to other growing businesses and industries in the area. Builders and developers have stepped up to meet the home needs of the Clovis community and have several new subdivisions in Clovis at various price ranges including the Providence subdivision, new homes being built on Sombrero, and various lots and locations throughout the city.

Cannon Privatization
Known to many as Chavez West (www.cannonfamilyhousing.com), the housing available to Cannon families just north of the base has seen a much-needed facelift with the renovation of 361 homes, the demolition of 402 homes and the construction of 677 new homes in the development. These updates by Balfour Beatty Communities hope to help the housing market in Clovis and open up more options to military families. All of the new homes will be three- or four-bedroom homes with two-car garages and at least 1,680 square feet of living space.
Additionally, Windy Plains (www.windy-plains.com), which was previously base housing, has been privatized and offers a number of homes for lease off of Norris Street northeast of Clovis.

The Chavez West project includes a 5,000-square-foot community center with a swimming pool, and a neighborhood center with splash park in the Joe Cannon Estates housing area, new playgrounds, volleyball courts, lighted tennis courts and walking trails.
