Plains Regional Medical Center: Comprehensive medical services. Close to home.

Local and accessible health care options are vitally important to the community. Clovis acts as a medical hub for more than 110,000 rural residents in Eastern New Mexico and West Texas and Plains Regional Medical Center (PRMC) https://plains-regional-medical-center.phs.org/Pages/default.aspx is the focal point for those services.

PRMC is a 100-bed general acute care hospital and regional medical center owned and managed by Presbyterian Healthcare Services, an integrated, not-for-profit health care system based in New Mexico. As a not-for-profit hospital PRMC exists to improve the health of patients in its community. Providers offer primary care, pediatric and specialty care through hospital-based clinics as well as expanded surgery services and specialties that include: general surgery, obstetrics/ gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, nephrology, dental surgery, and podiatry. All hospital- based clinics also offer electronic health records, which improve coordination of care, as well as access to MyChart, a secure patient portal used to request prescription renewals, receive laboratory results and schedule appointments.

At PRMC, a team of highly skilled doctors, nurses, and healthcare providers provide a wide range of services to meet patients’ healthcare needs close to home. These services include a cancer center with oncology and hematology services and a rehabilitation facility that provides physical, speech and occupational therapies. The acute care hospital offers a diagnostic cardiac cath lab with complimentary cardiac and PICC line services. PRMC is also a level II-B nursery, which allows premature newborns in critical condition to be cared for locally, close to home, and helps to reduce stress and anxiety for family members. PRMC also offers a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department and a sleep disorders center on site. In addition, PRMC’s Home Health and Hospice program allows patients to transition between these services without experiencing a disruption in their care. In 2014 PRMC also opened a new pharmacy with convenient drive-thru drop off service, where community members can also fill prescription medications, request refills and purchase over-the-counter medications.

PRMC, the largest hospital between Lubbock and Albuquerque, is a vital part of Clovis and eastern New Mexico and employs more than 600 caring staff and providers. Its team of physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, Board of Trustees and volunteers are committed to providing patients with outstanding care and personal service.
